It was another great day to be an Eagle as the STYFL Mighty Might Eagles made their second trip in as many weeks to Maricopa High School to take on the Cougars. The ball game was close in the first half as the teams traded touchdowns runs from the Cougars starting Quarterback and Eagle running backs Dakota Neer and Walker Pattyson.
The Eagles took control of the ballgame toward the end of the second quarter and went into halftime leading 19-13. After an inspiring speech from Eagle Head Coach Gene Irwin, the Birds came out firing in the second half and took control on both sides of the ball.
In the end, the Cougars were simply overmatched and the Eagles prevailed 32-13 to move their record to 2-0 on the season. Next week, the Eagles play host to the 1-1 Bulldogs at QCMS 1 @ 8:00am.
