San Tan Youth Football League Eagles

The San Tan Youth Football League announced the game format for the playoffs today. Apparently, the playoffs have been expanded to include 8 teams this season. The top 4 teams from each conference will qualify for the playoffs and the first week will include both the quarter-final and semi-final matchups. Each division will be assigned to a single site for the 11/3 showdown. Sites have yet to be determined.

The seedings will be determined as follows (tie-breakers in descending order):

1. Winning Percentage
2. Head to Head Matchups
3. Points Allowed

Based on this formula, the current seedings would look like this:

1. Rams (7-0)
2. Predators (6-1) (Predators beat Eagles 13-6)
3. Eagles (6-1)
4. Diablos (5-2)
5. Rattlers (4-3) (Rattlers beat Miners 21-0)
6. Miners (4-3)
7. Cougars (2-5) (Cougars beat Cardinals 7-0)
8. Cardinals (2-5)

Assuming this holds… the Quarterfinal matchups would be as follows:

#1 Rams vs #8 Cardinals
#2 Predators vs #7 Cougars
#3 Eagles vs #6 Miners
#4 Diablos vs #5 Rattlers

Then, later that afternoon the Semi-Final matchups would be as follows:

Winner #1 vs #8 versus Winner #4 vs #5
Winner #2 vs #7 versus Winner #3 vs #6

Now I’m not the gambling type, but if I were I’d lay money down that the semi-final matchups would be as follows:

Rams versus Rattlers
Eagles versus Predators

The Championship game will be held on Saturday 11/10. Early prediction… Eagles and Rams battle it out for league supremacy.
