Hey Eagles fans!  Week one is going extremely well as the boys are starting to whip into shape.  Tonight’s practice was cut short due to a rather large storm that rolled into town around 7 pm.  You know the boys are pretty jacked up for the season when many actually seemed a little bummed that they couldn’t get a full practice in.  I did, however, catch a few sarcastic “aw shucks” smirks from the peanut gallery.  Heck… dinner before 9pm…. what a concept.

Some pretty cool stuff going on this season with fund raisers and stuff.  If you weren’t at practice earlier this week, we learned that we could order jersey’s replicating our son’s game jerseys.  Pretty cool deal… $46 apiece.  Pretty steep, but worth it in my opinion.  I just hope they’re not “slim fitted” if you know what I mean.  Also, Jenny passed out a packet at yesterday’s practice with some more Eagles loot for sale for interested parties.  Jamie Ingram designed some pretty killer looking tee shirts and hats that you can buy as well.  I’m thinking about putting a shopping cart up on the site so people can order them whenever they feel like it.

Speaking of the site… Coach Gene gave everyone a player bio page to fill out.  We put this together last year and it was pretty well received.  What’s cool is a lot of the boys are ranking #1 for their names in Google.  I’m going to keep this updated each year, so the site will be modified to accommodate each team.  So, we’ll have a Mighty Might 2007 section and a Mighty Might 2008 section.  I’m also hoping to put some player bios up for the other Eagle teams, but I’m going to need some help to get that.

I’ve also seen alot of people taking pictures of practices and I’m sure during the season that will pick up even more.  We have a Flickr.com account for the team that any of you can upload photos to if you feel inclined to do so.  Last year we ended up with 800 pictures or so.  You can click on any of the photos on the right hand side of this page to check them out.  Well… that’s about it for now.  Ryan and I are getting together this weekend to get our season game plan together for the site.  Should be pretty fun again this year.

I have had a few people ask about jerseys for adults. Greg, who is the order rep, said that we can as long as the order is in by this Friday. The jerseys are $46 which is including shipping and tax. If you do want one please give your coach the money and size by Thursday, August 7th. (Per Greg, these will come in the same time as the boys uniforms.) Sorry for the late notice, I had no idea we could do this…

Tonight, you will be receiving a packet. It will have order forms for t-shirts, hats, spirit cups and car decals.

  

The orders for the t-shirts, hats and car decals will need to be turned in by next Wednesday, August 13th so that we can have these by our first game.

 

As you will see the pictures of the t-shirts and hats, they really turned out great! Jaime Ingram has her own screen printing business so she has given us a great deal and designed the shirts and hats. (way less stress for me) Thank you so much, Jaime!

 

Heather Harris has given us a great deal to do the car decals and she designed them! They are awesome! Thank you, Heather!

 

A little about these cups: The Spirit Cups feature your favorite team and are heavy gauge plastic cups, 18-oz, and dishwasher safe (top shelf recommended), featuring a lenticular (3-D) lens and made in the USA. They are recyclable and packed 4 cups to a set of the same team. They offer all 32 NFL teams, all 30 MLB teams, and over 50 Colleges. It’s $12 for each set. These orders for the NFL / MLB / NCAA Spirit Tumbler Cup Fundraiser will need to be turned in by Friday, August 29th.  I will give some samples to the coaches if you would like to see them. They are actually pretty cool. Thanks Tina, for putting this all together! (I had no idea you could get these)

 

Raffle tickets- Please have these turned in by Monday, August 18th. The drawing will be on Opening Day, September 6th.
